Psychotherapy

What is psychotherapy and who is it for? In my practice, I focus on individual, couples and family psychotherapy. Psychotherapy is for individuals facing difficulty at a particular moment in life or anyone seeking to improve the quality of their relationships and well-being. It provides a safe space for exploration, acceptance and growth. Derived from the Greek words “psiche” (soul) and “therapeia” (healing), psychotherapy refers to the treatment of psychological and emotional issues. The most common reasons people seek support include:

  • problems in interpersonal relationships
  • burnout
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • sleep disorders
  • eating disorders
  • psychosomatic disorders
  • grief
  • major life changes
  • low self-esteem
  • self-harm
  • loss of meaning, identity or motivation
  • addictions
  • trauma

Starting psychotherapy doesn’t require a diagnosis—it’s open to anyone who wants to bring more awareness, balance and empathy into their life. Unfortunately, for various reasons such as worry of being stigmatized, fear of change, or the hope that problems will resolve on their own, many people turn to a psychotherapist when their issues or symptoms are already very pronounced, affecting their daily life and functioning. If you’re struggling and unsure how to move forward, remember: you don’t have to face it alone.

What can you expect from our sessions?

My goal is to provide a safe space for you to explore your inner world and dedicate at least one hour each week to yourself. I’ll support you in understanding, accepting, and resolving your current emotions and challenges. Throughout therapy, we’ll follow your rhythm and needs because I believe a psychotherapist’s role is to accompany, not impose a rigid protocol. V psihoterapiji boste imeli možnost predelovanja raznih tem in raziskovanja novih strategij soočanja z življenjskimi izzivi. Pri tem sledim vašemu tempu in potrebam, saj trdno verjamem, da je terapevtova naloga sopotništvo in ne vsiljevanje nekega protokola.

Often, people are overly critical of themselves and cling to dysfunctional beliefs. The psychotherapy process focuses on building a more empathetic, healing self-image. In addition to dialogue, I integrate other techniques, all aimed at finding solutions. This approach fosters empowerment and progress.

Since the body and mind are intricately connected, somatic work is often vital for improving psychological and physical balance. I’ll help you develop new ways of dealing with life’s stressors. Techniques like mindfulness and relaxation exercises have positive effects on both body and mind.

While therapy may address painful content, it’s also an opportunity to develop skills like empathy, courage, love, and self-care. Through our therapeutic relationship, we can experience corrective experiences that improve both our quality of life and our capacity for healing.
